Offering excellent nursery slopes and more challenging skiing around Grandes Rousses and Pic Blanc at 3300m. Two black runs down the Sarenne glacier are particularly renowned – one a steep mogul slope and the other an incredible 16km trail into the Sarenne gorge. The Visalp pass includes Alpe d’Huez, Vaujany and a day’s skiing in Les 2 Alpes, Serre Chevalier, and across the border to Italy’s ‘Milky Way’. Vaujany 1250m: Vaujany is an unspoilt mountain village, with a rather traditional French atmosphere, easily accessible by cable car to Alpe d’Huez, with Vaujany’s own sector offering a good value alternative. Non skiing: open air ice rink, sports centre with pool, fitness centre, sauna and hammam. A small selection of bars and restaurants make up Vaujany’s low-key apres-ski.
